The University of Connecticut Foundation, Inc. seeks a collaborative and strategic Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration & Chief Financial Officer (SVP & CFO) with expertise in financial strategy and business operations to play a pivotal role within the Foundation during a critical period of time. Reporting directly to the President and working in concert with trustees and other key internal and external leaders, the new SVP & CFO will play a key role in achieving excellence in the execution of fiscal and business affairs through effective stewardship of assets, operational efficiency and effectiveness, and astute financial counsel aimed at realizing the Foundation’s ambitious goals and aspirations.

Established in 1964, the University of Connecticut Foundation (“UConn Foundation”) operates exclusively to promote the educational, scientific, cultural, research, and recreational objectives of the University. As the primary fundraising vehicle to solicit, invest, and administer private gifts and grants to enhance the University’s mission, the Foundation supports the University’s pursuit of excellence in teaching, research, and public service.

As a key member of the UConn Foundation’s senior management team, the SVP & CFO will partner with the President & CEO and other key leaders in enhancing the foundation’s financial position and corresponding impact. With a long and impressive list of accomplishments, the SVP & CFO must position the Foundation for important work ahead as it strives to grow the endowment to the $1Billion mark. To this end, the ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, broad management experience, and a collegial style that engenders trust. The successful candidate will have progressive financial leadership skills in higher education, university-related foundations, or other similarly complex organizations. The next SVP & CFO will have exceptional analytical skills and exemplary writing, presentation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. This individual must be familiar with all current financial rules, policies, and procedures and possess a keen understanding of accounting, tax, compliance, financial analysis, and planning and investments.
