The Price College of Business at the University of Oklahoma is seeking an Executive Director of Executive Education. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial academic to build an executive education business for online and in-person delivery from the ground up. Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean of Academic Programs, the Executive Director of Executive Education will be appointed as a renewable-term (RT) faculty member, with some teaching obligation, in one of Price College’s six academic divisions and will be based at the Gene Rainbolt Graduate School of Business in Oklahoma City (OKC).

The “Bolt,” which opened in 2017, is a 27,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art learning facility located in the heart of Oklahoma City’s Innovation District on OU’s Health Sciences Center campus. The OKC metro area, with a population of over 1.4 million, is an attractive market for executive education with little local competition. OKC is also a 90-minute drive from Tulsa (population of 1 million) and a three-hour drive (or 40 minute flight) from the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, the fourth largest metro area in the U.S.

Price College is a comprehensive, research-intensive business school with over 4,700 undergraduate, masters and doctoral students and many nationally ranked academic programs, as well as two Executive MBA offerings and three online master’s programs. Price College and OU have extremely strong regional brands and an extensive and loyal alumni network.

The chosen candidate will be responsible for planning, launching, growing and managing a new market segment for Price College — non-degree executive education programs. Responsibilities include managing a portfolio of open enrollment and certificate programs and related services (e.g., executive coaching) to ensure academic quality and achieve revenue and profit targets. The Executive Director will also manage the marketing and sales of custom programs and their design, delivery and quality assurance for domestic and international clients.

The successful candidate must have demonstrated proficiency at teaching graduate-level and/or executive business courses, a master’s or terminal degree in business or a related field along with five years’ experience in business development and sales in executive education (or a related knowledge-based professional services field such as consulting or law).  Management experience at a general management level including business strategy, business development (sales and marketing), budgeting, P&L responsibility and staff management are also required. Experience with the design and delivery of synchronous and asynchronous online learning as well as digital and content marketing are also preferred.
