Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Student Conduct, the Associate Director works closely with the Director to provide leadership in departmental planning, visioning, decision making, and problem solving. The Associate Director is responsible for providing leadership and supervision for daily case-management operations to ensure that resolution processes, outcomes, and sanctions are mission-driven, equitable, and compliant with laws and policies. As part of this responsibility, the Associate Director oversees technology solutions, including the Maxient database system, to ensure processes and information are accurate and efficient. The Associate Director also serves as a hearing officer for students and student organizations referred to Student Conduct for alleged policy violations. The individual also serves as a departmental liaison and steward, serving on university committees and fostering collaborative relationships with campus and community partners to pursue and promote a holistic, efficient, and transparent approach to student discipline that supports individual and community well-being and success.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in higher education, counseling, or relevant field; Progressive experience in Student Affairs; Demonstrated experience as a conduct hearing officer; Demonstrated experience with case-management or similar administrative processes; Demonstrated knowledge of applicable legal issues, including Clery, FERPA, and Title IX, among others, and their intersections with university policies and conduct processes; Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion; Demonstrated ability to manage external pressures to make mission-centric decisions; Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate with campus and community partners

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated experience supervising student or professional staff; Demonstrated experience with student organizations—particularly Greek life; Demonstrated experience working in or collaborating with residence life; Demonstrated knowledge and experience in adjudicating and/or investigating gender-based and sexual violence cases; Demonstrated experience managing case-management software/databases, such as Maxient
