Position Primary Purpose and General Responsibilities

The Education Specialist will work collaboratively with the Practice of Clinical Medicine ( PCM ) leadership team to provide critical oversight and administration of the day-to-day operations of the education programs for all medical students, small group leaders and preceptors participating in the program. The Education Specialist will provide on-site support for all course events and provide AV/Tech assistance as needed, utilizing additional resources as required. He or she will assist course directors in recruiting, vetting and enlisting qualified physicians from varying specialties as preceptors. This position will contribute to the design of course policies and procedures. The Education Specialist will serve as back-up for various administrative tasks such as preceptor and small group leader contract and payment processing as well as course supplies purchasing. Additional duties include: Stay current with and maintain the course software database (eCurriculum) and provide feedback to IT for necessary updates to the system; Serve as administrative backup for supply ordering and teaching physician contract and payment processing; Interact with programs associated with the course.

Minimum Hiring Standards

Bachelor’s degree required. Considerable administrative experience. Knowledge and skills in budget management and purchasing, including Banner and Real Source. Demonstrated computer competency; proficient in working knowledge of Excel (or other database programs) and Word. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to prioritize responsibilities and remain flexible when priorities change. Demonstrated ability to work independently. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Experience working in a fast paced and multi-cultural environment.

Preferred Hiring Standards

Experience working in University administration or related field preferred.
