Responsibilities:
This is a temporary position for when there is a need for evening/weekend coverage at one of the Higher Education Center's (National City, Otay Mesa and San Ysidro). The Supervisor will provide oversight to one of the three Higher Education Center's (Center) operations, including maintenance, safety and security and student services support.

Coordinates Center activities, services and communications with other departments/divisions at the Center, others Centers and/or the Chula Vista campus.

Coordinates Center facilities with District custodial operations and maintenance and repairs departments; performs various safety and security related duties, including inspection and monitoring of the environment.

Responds to difficult and sensitive student and faculty inquires and complaints with resolutions and alternative recommendations.


Knowledge and Abilities:


Education and Experience:
Any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business or public administration
AND two (2) years supervisory experience preferably in an educational setting.


Minimum Qualifications: (Faculty and Academic Administrator Positions Only)


Desirable Qualifications:
Spanish language proficiency desired.

A basic knowledge of the operations and procedures that exist at Southwestern College is highly desirable.


Salary
$43.31-$52.64 per hour

Start Date

As soon as the successful candidate is identified and following the subsequent governing board approval.

Work Schedule:
Applicants must be available Monday-Friday: 4:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m. AND Saturday: 7:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (approximately). Work schedule will depend on Center’s needs. The Higher Education Centers at San Ysidro and Otay Mesa are open on Saturday. Successful candidate may be assigned to any of the campus sites (Chula Vista, National City, Otay Mesa, and/or San Ysidro).
