Position Summary:
Willamette University Theatre Department seeks a Lighting Designer/Production Supervisor for a one
year, renewable contract.

JOB DUTIES:

The Lighting Designer/Production Supervisor is responsible for designing four main stage productions; supervising the lighting & sound studio and stage management teams; teaching one course a semester in design & technology; and operating as production manager for Willamette University Theatre. Contractual obligations follow both the academic school year and a common theatrical
production calendar. Willamette is a nationally renowned private liberal arts university in Salem, Oregon. Founded in 1842, Willamette is the first university established in the western U.S., and has become a national leader in sustainability and civic engagement. Our beautiful, historic campus, located across the street from the Oregon State Capitol, features a residential undergraduate College of Liberal Arts and two professional graduate schools: The College of Law, and the Atkinson Graduate School of Management. Through small classes, close student-faculty relationships, a commitment to collaborative research, and a variety of programs to meet individual student objectives, we provide an environment where teaching and learning flourish.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Any combination of education and experience that allows the candidate to fulfill the requirements

Typical Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm; occasional weeknights and weekends during technical/dress rehearsals.

This is a temporary staff position for the 2021-2022 academic year.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

Intermittent physical effort involving lifting up to 25 pounds required; much work is performed while standing

Salary Range:

$41,000 - $46,000
