Applications Analyst

 

Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following position: Applications Analyst (Systems Programmer/Developer II) in the Office of Information Technology Services. Under supervision of the ITS Assoc. Director for Financial Systems & HR Support Services, performs independent analysis of computer systems with responsibility for analysis, design, programming, testing, debugging and implementation of systems for Payroll and Human Resources; serves as project leader and user contact for design of special system projects; provides progress reports to supervisor.

 

Duties include, but are not limited to: provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries from users regarding errors, problems, or questions about Datatel/ Ellucian ERP Payroll, Finance and HR Modules. Diagnoses, isolates and resolves issues that arise during normal daily operations as the status of this system continues to change; analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, logic, processes, internal and external checks and controls and outputs; review the new features constantly released by the ERP product for implementation; provide training and documentation on new and customized programs to assist professional staff in the operation of the system; assist with cross-training ITS Colleagues as required; work closely with the client and vendor for management and maintenance of multitude data architecture and extraction routines that populate external third-party and internal auxiliary systems,  these complex subroutines must be maintained to produce the correct expected data sets; create new extracts based on data specifications to feed data to new external third party systems;  code, test, debug and document solutions to complex design problems; .provide timely reports to the stakeholders as needed (Colleague and other systems); provide exceptional customer service to all constituents, including but not limited to, faculty, staff, students, visitors and the community at large; assist supervisor, Enterprise System Support Services unit, and other ITS units with improving operational procedures, processes and standards as well as change management procedures in alignment and collaboration with ITS goals and objectives to advance the University mission; manage and utilize University/ITS/individual resources and time effectively to accomplish tasks and projects; ensure and maintain information security and confidentiality; and other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: A high school diploma and work experience in the modification and maintenance of system programs, the design and development of system software, or the testing and debugging of system software is required. An associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field and at least three (3) years experience in a related field.

Normal working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Flexible hours and nights and weekend work are required. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the department and university. Flexible work hours required to include night and weekend hours.
