Position: Assistant Director of Transfer Admissions

Reports to: Director of Transfer Admissions

Department: Enrollment Management

 

Enrollment Management seeks a self-motivated and team-oriented Assistant Director of Transfer Admissions to contribute to the recruitment efforts of the College. This includes meeting with prospective applicants, building relationships with local community colleges and expanding current recruitment efforts, including outreach to veterans. Responsibilities include managing online and in-person recruitment events, participating in marketing efforts and providing timely responses to email and phone inquiries. Flexibility, willingness to travel long distances and work evenings and weekends are a must. 

 

Other responsibilities include a strong knowledge and understanding of Manhattan College academic programs, admissions policies and procedures. Participation in campus recruitment events, ability to build relationships and cultivate inquires through to enrolled students, and evaluating transfer applications for admission are key responsibilities of the position. The Admissions Counselor will also work closely with members of the Financial Aid Staff to provide pertinent information to applicants applying for need and merit based financial aid.

The Assistant Director of Transfer Admissions must have the capability to see the big picture and understand divisional goals and prioritize their work accordingly. Additionally, they must be able to work unsupervised and take initiative on projects as well as to see projects through completion 

 

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Transfer Admissions. 

 

Qualifications:

  •  One to three years of admissions experience. 
  •  Strong interpersonal skills and excellent writing and public speaking skills.  
  •  Ability to establish and maintain relationships with community colleges, community organizations and prospective students in a competitive environment.  
  •  Enthusiastic personality, strong problem solving skills and attention to detail are essential.  
  •  Valid driver’s license.  
  •  Ability to travel daily and work weekends and evenings.  
  •  Preference will be given in the evaluation process to candidates with prior experience working in an admissions office.  
  •  SLATE and Banner experience preferred. 
  •  Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. 

 

Education Required/Preferred:

  •  Bachelor's Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
