Graduate Assistant- Women's Basketball
Job Description
The Graduate Assistant Coach will provide support and assistance to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach. The GA will take part in the overall operations of the women’s basketball program at MWSU .
The GA receives graduate school tuition covering a maximum of 9 credit hours a semester as well as a monthly stipend.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
•Aids the Head Coach with the women’s basketball team
•Assists with daily coaching
•Plans practices/workouts
•Prepares and organizes games and meets
•Maintains and tracks equipment
•Assists with the recruitment of prospective student-athletes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Employment is contingent on acceptance into MWSU Graduate School (2.75 GPA required for admission).
Preferred Qualifications
•Knowledge of University and NCAA rules and regulations
•Prior collegiate basketball playing experience is preferred.
•Possess the requisite qualities for the profession
•Be able to handle a high workload in a demanding environment and be well organized
•Excellent interpersonal skills
•Able to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information and issues
•Able to work independently.
Physical Demands
Light Work; exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
