The Department of Education at Elmhurst University in the greater Chicago area invites applications for adjunct faculty to teach Secondary Adjunct courses for the Fall 2021 academic year.

Essential Functions

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in foundations of methods of teaching in middle and secondary schools and/or introductory and intermediate seminars in education and working collaboratively on course development and evaluation.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach primarily undergraduate students enrolled in Middle & Secondary Education programs leading to initial licensure or additional teaching endorsements.
• Ideal candidates should demonstrate the qualities of an effective educator, a commitment to implementing high quality education programs that meet and exceed state standards and have significant experience teaching adult learners in online and/or hybrid formats..
• Teaching assignments will primarily include courses in these areas: foundations of education, curriculum design and assessment, teaching methods.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications include an earned doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction or a closely related field ABD ; work experience in 6-12 schools; strong interests and commitment to equity and inclusion in middle and high schools.

Preferred Qualifications Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions.
