SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:

Chief Financial Officer responsible for overall leadership, planning, development, supervision and evaluation of the College’s functions relating to financial, police, procurement, facilities management and planning, construction and print services.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

Serves students.  Supervises college departments responsible for financial, police, facilities management and planning, procurement and print services functions for the District.

Directs the preparation of the College budget, reviews and analyzes departmental budgets, participates in prioritizing budget requests, presents budget recommendation to local and state officials and public.

Coordinates the development of partnership opportunities presented to the District from private entities, educational organizations and city, county, state and federal agencies.

Develop a revenue projection plan that addresses future enrollment growth, staffing growth, sources of revenue including tuition, state support and District assessed valuation changes to address operational and capital expenditures.

Facilitates the ongoing development of short- and long-term capital improvement plans that house programs and curriculum for the District.

Coordinates college facility maintenance and renovation, real estate acquisition and or exchanges, and property disposal or sale.

Responsible for the overview, review and recommendation for approval of contracts, state and federal grants, and bond sales for the college district.

Responsible for the review and approval of policies, procedures and practices in the area of financial management, police, purchasing, and financial aid disbursement

Maintains the District’s health plan, liability insurance plan and risk management plan to protect the District’s interests.

Support and participate in strategic planning initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: 

  • Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Management or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a senior level financial position in higher education.
  • Strategic Planning experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, administrative and communication skills both oral and written.

Preferred: 

  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Bond experience
  • Capital Construction experience involving Master Plan Initiative
  • Project Management Certificate

Work Schedule:

  • Exempt position
  • Required 7:00am-5:00pm Monday-Thursday
  • May included some Fridays, evenings and weekends.
