King’s College (Wilkes-Barre, PA) seeks an Associate Vice President for Academic Success (AVPAS) to oversee student success and retention initiatives and related student services beginning in July 2021.

Reporting to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the AVPAS is an integral member of the Academic Affairs division, participating in long-term, institutional strategic planning and decision-making and providing leadership and oversight for the development, execution, and assessment of the College’s goals related to retention and student success. The AVPAS oversees student service offices such as academic advisement and the registrar and a number of additional offices dedicated to supporting various student communities, including underrepresented populations. The AVPAS is primarily responsible for safeguarding and increasing the opportunities for academic achievement among the College’s students.

Minimum credentials include a master’s degree (doctorate or terminal degree preferred) and successful experience in an academic leadership and supervisory role. Qualified candidates will advocate a philosophy of holistic student development that aligns with the College’s Holy Cross and Catholic mission. Candidates will possess the skills to work respectfully and collaboratively with multiple internal and external constituents to realize strategic goals and will demonstrate a proven commitment to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
