Harvey Lindsay School of Real Estate

The Harvey Lindsay School of Real Estate, Strome College of Business at Old Dominion University invites nominations and applications for the Robert M. Stanton Endowed Chair of Real Estate and Economic Development, a tenure track position at the senior associate/full professor level. The Chair is named after Mr. Robert M. Stanton, an alumnus and a prominent real estate developer. Responsibilities include teaching, research, outreach to the commercial real estate community, and service to the university, college and school. The Strome School offers an undergraduate major/minor in real estate, an MBA, a PhD with concentrations in Finance, Marketing, Management, and Information Technology, and a PhD Program in Public Administration and Urban Policy.

Strome College of Business

Located in Norfolk, Va., The Strome College of Business at Old Dominion University enjoys proximity to beaches, a thriving economy, and a vibrant arts community. The College has established endowments and secured funding for The Lindsay School of Real Estate and the E. V. Williams Center for Real Estate and Economic Development. The Williams Center offers programs and services to the community including an annual real estate market review, sponsored research, and guest lecture series.

Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities: We seek a talented professional whose interests lie in commercial real estate, blending practical and theoretical interests to engage students and the commercial real estate industry. The successful candidate will possess an earned doctorate degree in finance, real estate, or a related field, and will have strong interest in commercial real estate, a substantial research record, and experience in real estate instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Preference will be given to those candidates with professional experience with the commercial real estate industry or at a related government agency and demonstrated interest in growing student enrollments in real estate.

Minimum Qualifications - Education or training: The successful candidate will possess an earned doctorate degree in Finance, Real Estate, or a related field, and will have strong interest in commercial real estate, a substantial research record, and experience in real estate instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The candidate’s record of teaching and research must merit appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to those candidates with professional experience with the commercial real estate industry or at a related government agency and demonstrated interest in growing student enrollments in real estate.
