Position Summary:

The Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a fellowship trained vascular surgeon to join its vascular surgery community practice at SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford, Illinois. The selected candidate will play an integral role with the current three vascular surgeons to enhance the overall vascular surgery service at SwedishAmerican Hospital. The candidate is also expected to assist with the growth of the vascular service throughout the region. Limited academic appointment through the Department of Surgery, University of Wisconsin is also available.

Principal Duties:

The ideal candidate will be an outstanding clinician, a team player, with a strong interest in developing and maintaining a successful comprehensive vascular surgery program. The successful candidate is also expected to participate in the teaching, education and training program of medical students, vascular surgery residents, and fellows. The incumbent will also be an active teacher/mentor in the vascular surgery residency program.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

MD, DO, or equivalent is required. Additional training in Vascular Surgery required.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Completion of Vascular Surgery fellowship. Candidates must possess clinical and academic credentials sufficient for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor rank. The candidate must have the credentials that meet the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health criteria for promotion or appointment on the Clinical Track. Rank will depend on candidate's interest and academic credentials.

License or Certificate:

Candidate is required to have or be eligible for a Wisconsin Medical License. Board Eligible/Board Certification in Vascular Surgery through the American Board of Surgery or equivalent. Must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges.
