OBJECTIVE: To play a key leadership role in
developing and implementing an effective multi-year fundraising
program to support the on-going program, projects and activities of
the PTK Foundation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with the Executive Director of the Foundation to develop and successfully carry out fundraising strategy
Supervise the Foundation staff and evaluates their performance toward annual goals
Identify and build relationships with potential donors and alumni
Establish customer relations from existing and new accounts for PTK Connect for Business
Ensure donors are thanked in a timely and meaningful manner
Prepare or assist with preparation of communications materials to aid in securing major gifts and support donor engagement
Provide oversight for the full grant cycle to include grant writing, reporting and auditing
Recruit sponsors, participants, alumni, and/or other volunteers for fundraising and other events
Establish fundraising and/or participation goals for special events and specified time-periods
Assist in creating an annual work plan and development budget aligned with the Fundraising Strategy
Support the Executive Director’s development of annual organizational budgets and annual organizational
work plan that align with the Strategic Plan
Monitor and regularly report to the Executive Director on the progress of fundraising initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Five years of experience in education, preferably community college, setting.
- Experience managing a team.
- Experience managing volunteers, capital campaigns, donor recruitment, estate planning, and fund management.
- Fundraising experience with demonstrated success in annual giving, major gifts, and planned giving solicitation.
- Fundraising executive certification preferred.
- Demonstrated track record of performance in fundraising with foundations, corporations, and individual donors.
- Knowledge of how to effectively market and communicate the mission, vision, and values of Phi Theta Kappa.
- Ability to interact effectively with all Phi Theta Kappa constituents.
- Ability to administer the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major gift and annual fund prospects.
- Strong commitment to community college education.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet established deadlines.
- Professional written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
