The School of Nursing at Husson University in Bangor, Maine, is seeking an academic experienced in nursing education with expertise in medical-surgical nursing practice to assist with the school's plan to expand pedagogical innovation and evolving practice experiences for Fall 2021, primarily in the BSN program.The School of Nursing is part of Husson University's College of Health and Pharmacy, which includes the Schools of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Pharmacy and Counseling. The University is committed to delivering premier professional programs that emphasize experiential learning, student success and inter-professional education.The School of Nursing enrolls approximately 100 undergraduate and 50 graduate students per year and offers a traditional BSN, and MSN with tracks in Family Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health, Nurse Practitioner, and Educational Leadership.Husson University is a private institution of approximately 3500 undergraduate and graduate students located in Bangor, Maine. It offers Associate, Bachelor, Master's, and first professional degrees (PharmD and DPT) through its five colleges and schools. Bangor has been ranked as one of the top 50 small cities in the U.S. It offers a safe, affordable community with excellent education, healthcare, easy access to major urban centers, and a wealth of outdoor recreation opportunities. Year round activities can be enjoyed on the numerous lakes, trails, and ski areas. The University is approximately 40 minutes from the ocean and the nearby mountains of Acadia National Park.This is a full-time faculty position with a direct report to the Undergraduate Director for the School of Nursing. Faculty are primarily responsible for 12 credits hours per academic semester. Additionally, Husson adheres to the Boyer model of Scholarship with the expectation that faculty will pursue substantive achievement in one of the four scholarship areas.

To be considered, applicants must hold an active Maine license as a Registered Nurse with a graduate degree in nursing and demonstrated teaching experience in higher education. Preference will be given to applicants with:

• an academic doctorate (Ph.D, Sc.D., Ed.D.) preferred; masters degree will be considered.
• experience in medical-surgical nursing and/or teaching required
• experience with simulation
• outcomes-based assessment and student success strategies
