The Assistant or Associate Professor of Graphic Design/New Media/Web Design position is a Full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts, Division of Fine Arts, start date spring 2021 or August 2021. The Department of Visual and Performing Arts, at Norfolk State University is seeking an individual with drive, an appreciation for diversity, and talent to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the following areas: graphic design/ new media/web design/computer animation (or some combination of the courses in these areas) in a growing department. Successful candidate will be required to maintain the computer laboratory, with printers, computers and other digital media tools, he/she must be well-versed in both PC and Mac platforms. The development of new course offerings in these areas is expected, and the ability to web design, and some foundation courses is a favorable advantage for this position.
The Department of Visual and Performing Arts, Division of Fine Arts, houses approximately 150 undergraduate majors and graduate students. Norfolk State is located in the Tidewater area of southeastern Virginia, an area rich in Virginia history and culture.
