Phi Alpha Theta, the national History Honor Society, invites applications for its Executive Director position. Among the largest student honor societies in the United States, Phi Alpha Theta has over 500,000 members in 990 chapters nationwide.
Successful applicants must have a demonstrated competence in executive leadership, including experience in financial accountability, operations management, non-profit regulations and public relations. A Bachelor’s degree in any field with commensurate management experience is required. Membership in and a record of service to Phi Alpha Theta is a plus. The committee encourages applications from candidates both inside and outside higher education.
The position is currently based at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL, although the organization’s headquarters may potentially relocate to an alternative campus location sometime in the future. Unless an applicant is a current member of the University of South Florida faculty, this position does not include teaching responsibilities or membership on the University of South Florida faculty.
The Executive Director serves a 6-year term (without term limits) reports directly to Phi Alpha Theta's elected Executive Board. Salary is commensurate with qualifications. Consideration of applications will begin on 5/15. The position will remain open until filled.
