Colorado Mountain College is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic and student-centered full-time faculty member to join the Rifle campus. With teaching and learning at the center of what we do, the chosen candidate will join a team dedicated to excellence in education, and will serve as a leader in the training of our next generation of highly skilled, caring and compassionate health care professionals. This position will also include collegewide program coordination duties.

Colorado Mountain College is investing in our commitment to front line health care workers, and the person hired for this position will instruct and inspire students and create partnerships and employment pipelines with local hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics, home health care providers, and other entities.

Full time faculty positions begin in August 2021 with a 30 credit hour (170 day contract per Board Policy 4.12) teaching load annually. The college-wide program coordinator duties are anticipated to account for 6 or 7 credit hours of the annual teaching load.

This position will include night, weekend and possibly online teaching.

Nurse aide program coordinator responsibilities expected of this position may include: ongoing development of curriculum (clinical and didactic) designed to assist students build knowledge and clinical skills aimed at passing the licensing exam for Certified Nurse’ Aide (C.N.A), implementation and evaluation of the program. Planning for classroom, laboratory and clinical learning experiences, to include securing written agreements between the administration of the program and outside providers of clinical resources. Providing for the safe keeping of a system of permanent records and reports essential to the operation of the program.

Teaching responsibilities expected of all faculty include: teach course load as assigned, evaluate courses and assess student learning, meet established course, program and learning outcomes, comply with guidelines and policies, maintain office hours per established standards, develop rapport with students, assist with and participate in advising, orientation and registration activities.

CMC Faculty are expected to engage in service activities such as campus and college committees, participation in relevant projects, mentor peers, participate in and assist with assessment activities, program review, student organization, recruiting and retention.

Salary range: $65,686.19 - $80,005.72 depending upon education and experience. Requirements:

Qualified candidates must be credentialed to teach in this program, or eligible to be credentialed. Examples of ideal qualifications include:

Registered Nurse with a current unencumbered professional license in the State of Colorado. Two years clinical nursing experience in caring for the elderly and/or the chronically ill of any age of which at least one (1) year must be in the provision of services in a long-term care facility required. Must have documented experience in teaching adults or have one year experience in managing nurse aides. Must be able to instruct, mentor and supervise students in clinical settings.
