Auburn University at Montgomery invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Lecturer in English, to begin Fall 2021. The successful candidate will teach first-year composition courses: Introduction to Composition, Composition I, and Composition II. Experience teaching first-year composition is expected. Desired qualifications include substantial training in English Composition theories and pedagogies; training in multilingual composition and/or experience teaching to multilingual students; training in basic writing instruction; and experience in multimodal composing and teaching writing with digital technologies. Qualification to teach other needed courses in our curriculum, especially literature surveys or advanced composition, is also desirable. The successful candidate’s ultimate course load will depend upon qualifications. AUM’s student population is as diverse as the population of the state and includes a high proportion of traditionally underrepresented groups. AUM lecturers teach a 4/4 load. Internal funding to support scholarship and professional development is available.
