Job Summary/Basic Function

Studio & Digital Arts Applicants:
Teaching online undergraduate and graduate Studio and Digital Arts classes in Graphic Design, Animation, OR Design Foundations; OR Teaching online undergraduate and graduate Studio and Digital Arts classes in Art History.

Communication Applicants:
Teaching online undergraduate and graduate Digital Media, Video, and Strategic Communication classes. Teaching can include courses in video, interactive, advertising, public relations, and promotional communication, as well as additional areas of expertise (such as social/digital media, visual storytelling, and mobile communication, research methods, and applied components of communication.

online faculty must have regular access to and familiarity with the Internet/e-mail.
- Teach material from the approved curriculum by an assigned schedule to ensure student satisfaction.
- Assists students in achieving completion of objectives and learning outcomes.
- Provides regular and timely feedback to students.
- Participates in school retention initiatives by maintaining productive contact with students and by getting in touch with and offering assistance to absent students.
- Advises students in matters related to academics, attendance, and behaviors.
- Motivates students to actively participate in all aspect of the educational process.
- Maintains and reports student grades and attendance by university policies.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Studio & Digital Arts Applicants:
An MA in Graphic Design, Animation, 2D Design or related field, and a strong record of professional achievement. The applicant should be a practicing designer with industry experience in a variety of levels of the fields of graphic design, animation, or studio art. Skills may include print and new media design, Animation software, Proficiency in HTML / CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, and best practices for responsive web development and user experience. Art History Applicants:
An MA in Art History or related field and a strong record of professional achievement. The applicant should be able to teach a wide range of art-historical subjects.
- History of Publication in academic or trade journals
- Established research agenda

Communication Applicants:
M.A. in Communication or Digital Media related field (with professional experience) required. A candidate with an MA in Communication or related applied field with a record of strong professional experience may be considered

Preferred Qualifications

Studio & Digital Arts Applicants:
An MFA with three years or more of full-time online teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels, or equivalent, and a strong record of professional achievement. For animation instructors, a minimum of 18 graduate hours in 2D and/or 3D Animation coursework, knowledgeable in Autodesk Maya or other animation/3D modeling software, with 4-5 years animation experience, strong general knowledge of modeling, rigging, texturing, lighting and animating. Knowledge of the design process and storyboarding. Additional experience with online course development and instruction. Faculty members are expected to maintain professional and creative development. A link to your portfolio should be included on your resume/curriculum vitae.
- History of Publication in academic or trade journals.
- Existing research agenda.

Art History Applicants: A PhD in Art History with three years or more of full-time online teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels, or equivalent, and a strong record of professional achievement. Additional experience with online course development essential. Faculty members are expected to maintain professional and creative development.

Communication Applicants:
Terminal degree in Communication, Strategic Communication (Ad/PR) or Digital Media (M.F.A or Ph.D) and three years or more of full-time online teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate levels, or equivalent, and a strong record of professional achievement.
- History of publication in academic or trade journals.
-Professional experience (video, promotion, advertising, social media, etc.)
- Established research and/or professional content agenda
