Work Conditions: Work is primarily indoor and sedentary in nature.

Duties of Position: Works directly with employers to identify apprenticeship opportunities for their employees that align with Harper College Health Career programming.

Develops new opportunities for clinical experiential learning by networking with area hospitals, long term care facilities, physician offices and clinics. Engages in outreach with clinical educators at hospitals, clinics, surgical centers, etc.

Explores and creates relationships with local clinical partners to establish apprenticeship opportunities for current Harper students and incumbent workers.

Collaborates with the Office of Workforce Solutions to establish Healthcare Apprenticeships for currently enrolled students. Assists with the screening of students and monitoring of apprentice progress once enrolled.

Assists health career program coordinators in the development and implementation of apprenticeship performance metrics and employer agreements; monitoring of apprentices as they are assigned to various clinical sites.

Works with Harper’s Marketing department to create marketing materials such as brochures, pamphlets, etc. Assists with website and social media promotion of health career programming.

Maintains database of clinical affiliation agreements and monitors site placement and utilization. Streamlines affiliation agreement processes.

Manages grants awarded within the division in conjunction with the Dean of Health Careers. Develops the grant budgets and ensures grant outcomes are met.

Maintains compliance tracking metrics for all active grants and proposals, including tracking compliance with grant reporting requirements, as well as monitoring grant periods and spending trends and projections. Assists with the preparation of budgets and required reports

Monitors funds expended throughout the fiscal year. Assists in the evaluation of Perkins Grant performance and prepares required quarterly reports.

Coordinates advisory meeting processes. This includes documenting participation based on accreditor requirements, ensuring reporting of outcomes to all stakeholders and developing communications and notes for all division programs and maintenance of contact listings.

Coordinates engagement events for new and current clinical partners. Supports the coordination of Health Career Advisory Committee meetings and dinners. Coordinates other partner engagements that include campus visits, tours, and other collaborative opportunities.

Maintains database of apprenticeship employer partners and provides apprenticeship partners, and the Office of Workforce Solutions with programmatic documents as required. Monitors apprentice progress and provides regular updates to the dean.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in health care, business or behavioral sciences.

Experience Requirements: Minimum 4 years’ experience managing programs in a business or educational setting required Excellent networking, organizational & promotional skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
