The Edith Kinney Gaylord Expository Writing Program at the University of Oklahoma is hiring a Lecturer to begin teaching in Fall 2021. Expository Writing lecturers teach thematic, interdisciplinary writing seminars to first-year students, and retain the  autonomy to determine topics, readings, and writing assignments based upon the intersection of their research interests and expository writing pedagogy. The teaching load is 2/2, with enrollment capped at 16 students per section. Expository Writing at OU [] is housed in an academic unit with the OU Writing Center [ center].

This position will be hired for a one-year term, with the possibility for reappointment on a 5-year renewable term. Lecturers receive a competitive salary, full benefits, and a generous travel and research stipend. Lecturers are eligible for promotion to Senior Lecturer after 5 years of service. Experience teaching undergraduate writing is required, but need not be in the context of a first-year writing course. Lecturers must have a terminal degree (PhD or MFA) in English, rhetoric, composition or a related field by time of appointment.
