The School of Business at Stevens Institute of Technology invites applications for a full time tenure-track faculty position in Information Systems at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with an expected start date of late August 2021. Of particular interest are applicants with backgrounds in one or several of the following information-related fields: Information Systems, Computer-Supported Cooperative Work, Data Analytics, Network Science, Applied Machine Learning, and Robotic Process Automation. In particular, faculty interested in the applications of machine learning and the societal impacts of this technology on work and organization are encouraged to apply. This position is part of the School’s strategic plan of hiring three to five faculty members annually over the next few years. The position is available immediately and applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
Successful candidates will possess a PhD in Information Systems,
Computer Science, Management Science, or other related discipline.
The degree must be completed before August 2021. Experience in
industry and/or government is a plus.
Information Systems faculty at the school are active in research involving collective intelligence, process innovation, and peer production. Candidates are expected to complement and enhance the research activities of the school with their own scholarly activities, advise Ph.D. students, and are expected to publish in top journals of their field. Successful candidates are expected to teach in our graduate and undergraduate programs in Information Systems and/or Business Intelligence & Analytics. The university offers a competitive teaching load and excellent support for faculty research.
Stevens’ offers Information Systems degrees at the graduate,
undergraduate, and PhD level. The MS in Information Systems is the
largest program in the School of Business and consists of courses
on emerging information technologies, business process innovation,
IT strategy and IS architectures as well as concentrations in
business intelligence and analytics, as well as process and service
innovation. Successful candidates are expected to participate in
curricular development, student advisement and the program’s robust
series of public events besides the primary role of pursuing a
strong research agenda.
