The Music Department of Bowdoin College is seeking candidates for a part-time, one-year, benefits-eligible position in music, with expertise in jazz performance, to start July 1, 2021. The successful candidate will direct and organize approximately four small jazz combos per semester (depending on enrollment). Applicants should have expertise in jazz performance, exhibit strong communication skills, and be comfortable teaching a range of students with various musical skill levels and backgrounds. A master’s degree in jazz or a related field is preferred but not required. In their cover letter, candidates should also address their interest in working at a liberal arts college with undergraduates, majors as well as non-majors, at all levels of instruction.
