Vacancy Number: S-00696 Position Title: Military Admissions Associate Classification Title: Senior Program Associate Department: Enrollment Management Employment Type: Full-Time Duties and Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for assisting Veterans Services with the one stop concept at AUM and integrating the current VMIRC (Veterans and Military Resource Center) policies and procedures. Responsibilities include basic training of VA work study student workers.

This position will recruit prospective students and inform veterans, military personnel and families of the educational benefits and opportunities that AUM has to offer.

This position functions as a point of contact for Veterans Services, to receive visitors and/or telephone calls; answer routine questions; take messages and/or refer to appropriate offices.

This position will assist with liaison efforts and request, sort, display and distribute military and benefit related materials appropriately.

The position participates in admission activities both on and off campus. They also provide initial advising to prospective students and parents about admission, financial aid and registration processes.

This position works closely with the Office of Financial Aid, Office of Student Accounts, and the Scholarships Office to ensure that the proper information is provided to the students.

This position will participate in call campaigns and outreach initiatives as directed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of applicable university practices and procedures
Knowledge of applicable state and federal rules and regulations
Working knowledge of student systems as related to admissions databases, and Microsoft products
Knowledge of acceptable advising and/or recruiting techniques and practices
Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations
Leadership skills
Skill in making written and oral presentations
Interpersonal skills
Ability to manage details
Ability to advise and recruit prospective students
Ability to speak in public, and make presentations

Minimum Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent and at least three (3) years of experience working with the Military/Veteran population. Additional education in a related field may be substituted for experience.

The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills, a highly service-oriented focus, and strong communication skills to include written communication skills and interpersonal skills as well as a valid driver’s license.
