Job Summary

This position will help grow enrollment (particularly online) in Graduate Certificates, Masters of Engineering Management, Masters of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Accelerated Masters programs, and Engineering Projects Study Abroad. Additionally, this position will assist in the marketing of the Bachelors of Industrial and Systems Engineering through managing social media, developing marketing materials, and coordinating events. The position will also enhance communications to current and future stakeholders to help grow and foster the reputation and ranking of the department at the graduate and undergraduate level.

Essential Functions

Review activities in advanced manufacturing, occupational safety and ergonomics, systems engineering and other ISE program to direct communications to related industries for research opportunities and to potential graduate students particularly for on-line graduate education.

Ensure Web content is correct, current, and engaging with changing programs and research.

Assists in writing and editing internal and/or external ISE stories, articles, newsletters, invitations and/or news releases for publications, the media, and other outlets.

Writes news release and ad copy, publications material, and web content intended for dissemination.

Works in conjunction with the COE Marketing and Communications office in preparing press releases and participates in public relations activities, including website and video projects.

Assists in the direction of the communication and marketing services for the College of Engineering in creating, managing, coordinating, and executing marketing plans and strategies that achieve the goals and objectives of the ISE department.

Serve as department representative at marketing and recruiting events.

Create, design ISE news material for distribution to local and state media and general viewing audiences through multiple means of communication. Coordinates the production of materials to include content/style editing, designing, printing, photography, videography, and/or copywriting.

Coordinates outreach and recruiting promotions and activities.

Helps manage and execute required departmental activities along with the other administrative staff members.

Education Level

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution

Field of Study

Degree in Journalism, Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field

Minimum Skills and Abilities

Working well with others. Leadership. Problem solving. Time management absolutely essential.
Knowledge of various marketing and communication theories, concepts, techniques, mediums and strategies. Ability to write for various audiences and in various formats.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in multimedia technologies. Experience in higher education. Knowledge of Auburn University’s administrative, systems, policies and procedures.
Skillset in developing new and cutting-edge digital marketing materials.
