Working Title: Computer Print Technician Official Title: Computer Print Technician Employment Class: University Staff FTE: 1.0 Compensation: $15.00 - $16.00 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Terms of Employment: Continuous Position Summary: This position is split between the departments of Document Services and Postal Services, and reports to the Manager of Postal & Document Services. The position is responsible for operating various printers, printing equipment, and print finishing machinery, as well as, serving as backup to office operations in Postal Services. This includes sorting and processing mail, and running an envelope inserter and tabber. Accuracy and attention to detail are paramount in this position. This position functions under general supervision, having greater independence of action, procedural control over assigned duties and the responsibility for problem solving decisions. Responsibilities

Document Services Operation Support

1. Accept and fill out work orders from digital submission program.

2. Scan hardcopy documents needing to be copied.

3. Operate Docutech 125 black and white printers.

4. Perform all kinds of finishing work, including folding, coiling, cutting, etc.

5. Shred confidential documents collected by Postal Services from University departments.

6. Serve as backup to color printing.

7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Mailing Activities:

1. Sort USPS and intercampus mail to University mailstops.

2. Process outgoing mail, using best judgement in selecting carrier and rates, and/or honoring requested method of shipment.

3. Operate postage meter machines and scales.

4. Assist with the sorting, bundling, and processing of outgoing Marketing (Bulk) Mail.

5. Lift and transport mail that can weigh up to 70 lbs.

6. Generate end-off-day postage reports daily and maintain a computer log.

Qualifications Required:

-Customer service and effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, to interact with a diverse campus community, vendors and suppliers.
-Experience using computers and electronic file handling.
-Ability to, with or without accommodation, perform physical labor including heavy lifting, bending, stooping and other motions.
-Ability to, with or without accommodation, lift up to 50 lbs with assistance, repeatedly, and to transport up to 150 lbs with assistance.
-Ability to, with or without accommodation, remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.
-Ability to, with or without accommodation, move/traverse for long periods of time. -Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Preferred: -Experience operating digital printers
-Experience with print finishing equipment.
