Lecturer or Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing

The Wellstar School of Nursing at Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for two nine-month non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor or Lecturer of Nursing faculty positions, beginning August 1, 2021.


Qualified applicants will have clinical expertise in adult health, community health, psychiatric/mental health, parent/child or women’s health nursing and/or skills and simulation labs. These positions report to the Director of the Wellstar School of Nursing. Primary teaching responsibilities will be at the undergraduate level in didactic and clinical courses. Classroom, lab, and clinical teaching may be required. There is also an expectation of service to the department, college, university, and/or professional community.


Ideal candidates will possess: 1) an active RN license in Georgia or eligibility for a Georgia nursing license; 2) previous teaching experience; and 3) a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.


Required Qualifications Include:


  • A master’s degree in nursing or the foreign equivalent is required for the Lecturer rank.
  • A terminal degree (PhD or DNP) in nursing or in a related field (EdD), or the foreign equivalent, is required for the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor.
  • Candidates must have a strong depth of knowledge in adult health, community health, psychiatric/mental health, parent/child or women’s health nursing, and/or skills and simulation labs. Candidates will also have a minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience, and previous experience in nursing education or serving as a preceptor for nursing students in clinical settings.


Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • Nurse Practitioner Certification (Acute Care, Adult Health, Family, Gerontological Pediatric, or Psychiatric/Mental Health).
