The Department of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Washington (UW) invites applications for a nine-month, non-tenure-track, part-time lecturer to teach undergraduate courses in climate sciences, including climate change (past, present and future), environmental justice, clean energy solutions, and the impacts of climate change. The successful candidate will teach one class per quarter during the academic year in a 50% full-time equivalent appointment (FTE). The starting date of employment is September 15th, 2021.

Applicants must have a doctoral degree in Atmospheric Sciences, or a related science, and demonstrated experience teaching similar classes. A Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in Atmospheric Sciences or related field. Excellent communication skills in a large-class setting and a commitment to student learning. Demonstrated success in teaching introductory undergraduate classes. A desire to mentor graduate students who assist in teaching our large classes. A commitment to promoting equity in the classroom.
