Job Description



PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Under general supervision, p rovides oversight and facilitation of day-to-day operations within a ssigned area of specialty, participating in planning, developm ent, evaluation and improvement . As sist s with ensuring smooth and efficient operations . Responsible for coordination of support functions such as scheduling, communications, workflows, supplies, information processing, and staff supp ort. May be responsible for coordinating budget planning process and for tracking and coordinating budget expenditures. Develops and communicates process deci sions based on best practices. The Advisor will establish contact with students identified as At-Risk through the Early Alert Program, and communicate with faculty and student success administrators .

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Oversee daily and some long-term operations of assigned area; actively maintain up-to-date knowledge of area and acts as Subject Matter Expert and general point of contact within the area of specialty
  • Create and submit a variety of reports related to assigned department; perform research and analysis to assist with preparation and presentation of findings; may make presentations at various levels both internally and externally
  • Develop and maintain processes and documentation and maintain open communication with faculty regarding student participation
  • Trains and supervises department staff; schedule and prioritize work activities and develop and organize training materials
  • Evaluate programs and make recommendations for revisions to processes and procedures, with a focus on continuous departmental/process improvement; assists with development of new programs
  • Coordinate and manage various department and management calendars and schedules
  • Assist with planning, schedules and coordinates various meetings/seminars/events, including site selection and preparation, marketing and training materials, and general support
  • Monitor and control resources such as office supplies and equipment needed within the department; submit requisitions and follows up with reconciliation documentation
  • Develop marketing material for promotion of the program and support seminars
  • Monitor and maintain website for department and external use
  • Take part in and/or lead special projects as needed
  • Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

    PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

    The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

    WORK SCHEDULD AND CONDITIONS :

    • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
    • Interface with i nternal and external contacts as needed to carry ou t the functions of the position
    • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with min imal exposure to safety hazards


    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor' s degree and at least 3 year s of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience


    Salary

    Hiring salary range is $46,300 to $53,245.

    Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education.
