Job Description Summary
The Department of Aerospace Engineering at Auburn University invites applications for a non-tenure-track Lecturer in Aerospace Engineering. The appointment will be for nine months and is renewable annually. Additional teaching opportunities in the summer may also be available and are subject to the availability of funds. The primary responsibility of a successful candidate for this position is to teach a selection of undergraduate aerospace engineering courses required of students of the Department of Aerospace Engineering. The successful candidate will be expected to bring experience, innovation, enthusiasm, technology, and leadership to the courses. Under typical circumstances, the teaching load will be three courses per semester, which includes course and laboratory development and management activities. In addition to instructional duties, successful candidates will contribute to the instructional mission of the department through participation on faculty committees and be expected to mentor students through possible participation in student organizations, competition activities, and other mentoring and knowledge enhancement opportunities.

Successful applicants must possess a doctorate in aerospace engineering or a closely related field from an ABET accredited institution prior to the date of employment. We seek candidates with already demonstrated effectiveness in working with aerospace engineering students and professionals. In addition, applicants must have experience teaching at an ABET accredited institution of higher education in the area of aerospace structures. The candidate must also have excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills. The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements to work in the U.S. at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
