Job Description:
The Director for Student Success Initiatives and Effectiveness manages and coordinates implementation of student success initiatives and leads change management efforts at all levels and across all divisions of the University to advance the achievement of student success goals. The Director provides leadership in evaluating the effectiveness and advancing the continuous improvement of student success processes and practices at Minnesota State Mankato. The Director works closely with the Office of Institutional Analytics and Strategic Effectiveness to maximize the development of actionable data and insight to inform student success strategies.


Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree (conferred on an official transcript at the time of application) and five years of professional related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading change management and process improvement methods.
  • Demonstrated experience in program evaluation.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management.
  • Demonstrated application of college student development theories and high impact student success practices.
  • Excellent written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and innovation skills.
  • Ability to articulate and create processes and systems to guide work of self and others.
  • Ability to work independently within ambiguous situations and apply novel solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across divisions and colleges with personnel at all levels.
  • Demonstrated commitment to advancing a diverse, equitable and inclusive working and learning environment.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience working in registration and academic records.
  • Demonstrated experience in student advising and support.
  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis and research methods.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a higher education setting.
  • Demonstrated experience working in student support or success services.


Other Requirements:
Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.
