Salary Basis: 12 month
Responsibilities:
Operate computer systems such as records management, reporting software, MS-Office, and related software.
Operate Law Enforcement and Fire consoles.
Read Campus, City and County maps accurately and quickly.
Maintain familiarity with University Campus and major roads, streets, hospitals, schools, churches, buildings, and other landmarks in Cleveland, MS.
Deal effectively with upset, confused, hostile, or hysterical people by phone.
Work with concentration despite any distractions, interruptions or problems. Deal with sensitive (confidential) information in a discreet and professional manner. Remain alert, calm, and courteous under extreme stress situations. Work shift under high stress conditions. Work closely with others in a compatible and mutually supportive way in a teamwork concept.
Appear for scheduled work with regular, reliable and punctual attendance.
May be required to work over 40 hours in a workweek.
Subject to be called to work at any hour or day of the week.
Qualifications:
Must be able to pass drug test and criminal background check.
Ability to multi-task and process information quickly.
Ability to make appropriate decisions under stressful situations.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to speak English clearly and distinctively.
Superior software and hardware knowledge and skills.
21 years old
High School Diploma/GED
Proficient PC and MS Office skills
Preference may be given if candidate has prior dispatching experience and NCIC (National Crime Information Center) Certified.
Second language skills a plus.
Fluent in MS Office.
Emergency Telecommunicator certification.
Relative Associates degree
