TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Renewable, Full-Time, 165 days

 

JOB DESCRIPTION: Tompkins Cortland Community College seeks a dynamic and engaging full-time tenure track faculty member with a focus on student success and retention. Position includes 15 credits per semester in Criminal Justice AS and AAS programs. These credits may involve teaching face-to-face, remote, day, evening, online, hybrid, and HyFlex courses. Courses may include corrections, introduction to criminal justice, criminology, criminal law, and ethics. The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues to maintain, develop, and update course curricula and work on and possibly lead initiatives for future development. Other activities will include student advising, serving on college committees, coordinating internship experiences, holding office hours, and outcomes assessment.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in related field and minimum of three years’ experience in Criminal Justice. College teaching experience required. A demonstrated ability to teach Criminal Justice within a social justice perspective is required.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in related field and five years’ experience in a Criminal Justice setting. Community College teaching experience preferred.

 

EXPECTED HIRING SALARY RANGE: $47,267 - $59,085 - Salary subject to change pending outcome of Faculty Association negotiations. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
