The University of South Carolina Aiken (UofSC Aiken) invites applications for an Instructor in Sociology with a focus in criminology or criminal justice. This full-time position is a nine-month, renewable appointment to begin August 16, 2021.  Responsibilities include teaching four courses (12 credit hours) per semester where candidates should be prepared to teach Introductory Sociology and courses in the Department of Sociology's criminology and criminal justice concentration. Instructors are also expected to advise undergraduate students and perform service to the department and the university. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. 

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in Sociology with significant graduate coursework related to crime, deviance, and delinquency, or a Master's degree in Criminal Justice or Criminology. 

Preferred Requirements: PhD in Sociology, Criminal Justice, or Criminology. Candidates who are ABD will be strongly considered. Candidates who have previous experience teaching at the college level and who have an interest in teaching Introduction to Criminal Justice, Police in Society, and other criminology/criminal justice related courses are encouraged to apply.
