Responsible for developing and coordinating educational programs
for K-12 school groups, families, and the public, at the museum,
virtually, and in off-site locations. Recruits, trains and
coordinates the work of volunteers and student employees. Develops
programs related to the museum mission, including exhibits and
community partnerships. Teaches two classes in the
interdisciplinary undergraduate Museum Studies Program per year,
using a variety of modalities. Involves students in meaningful
applied projects. Coordinates the acquisition of and
experimentation with new and emerging technology for teaching,
interpretation, curation, and use of collections.Master's degree in
Museum Studies or related field.
Three years of experience in museum education.
Experience applying new and emerging technology in a museum environment.
Supervisory experience.
Experience with researching, acquiring, and applying new technologies in a museum setting.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Three years of experience in museum education.
