Center for Power Electronics Systems (CPES) in the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is one of the largest university-based power electronics centers in the U. S. and one of the world’s leading research centers on power electronic devices, circuits, and systems. CPES and the ECE department has the full equipment for research in materials, devices, packaging, circuits, and systems (e.g., multiple circuit labs, packaging lab, device characterization lab, class-100 cleanroom with established GaN processes). CPES highlights an Industry Consortium consisting of over 80 companies, which is one of the largest power electronics consortia in the U. S. academia. In addition to a strong connection with industry, CPES is proud to have many successful alumni in academia and entrepreneurship. 27 startup companies have been founded by CPES alumni and 21 CPES alumni are currently professors in academia. More information about CPES can be found at: https://cpes.vt.edu/
