Job Description



PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Manager, Compliance and Accreditation ensures Lone Star College (LSC) remains compliant with various Agency and Council regulations, polices and procedures. Agencies and councils include, but not limited to, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), the U.S. Department of Education, LSC Board of Trustees, and LSC Executive council. The Manager aids in development and implementation of recommendations to address emerging requirements including monitoring, occasional writing, and developing documentation. Position supports program implementation methods, directs and coordinates program activities and exercises control over personnel responsible for specific functions or phases of program.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Create and modify processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness
  2. Develop resource guides and deliver interactive training to campus and system employees
  3. Disseminate information concerning compliance-related policy and contribute to training on compliance-related issues
  4. Track the institution’s SACSCOC substantive change communications and facilitate responses on related inquiries and requests for additional information
  5. Coordinate the dissemination of information concerning SACSCOC, THECB, and the U.S. Department of Education regulations, policies and procedures to the LSC community
  6. Provide system-wide support to campus staff and administrators regarding dual-credit programs; ensure dual-credit programs remain in compliance
  7. Represent the Office of Accreditation and Compliance on systemwide committees
  8. Support SACSCOC documentation and processes, including conducting periodic internal audits
  9. Track, research and collaborate with subject matter experts to develop content for SACSCOC proposals, prospectuses, substantive change documentation, and other SACSCOC submissions
  10. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Specialization in field


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Directly related experience in higher education


Salary

Hiring salary range is $60,590-$69,678

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education.
