The department also hosts a variety of club and intramural sports. The College recently constructed a new, state-of-the-art athletics complex, which is among the best Division III facilities in the country. The 350,000 square-foot athletics center includes an indoor track and field competition center, aquatic center with Maine’s first 50-meter pool, squash center, gymnasium, hockey arena, strength & fitness center, athletic training rooms, and coaching suites. Additionally, the College has opened a 70-acre-plus outdoor competition center that consists of three gleaming new competition and recreational fields that are also among the finest outdoor venues in Division III. The new 4000 square foot athletic training suite is equipped with three private exam rooms, ample rehabilitation space, twelve large treatment tables with extremity adjustments, six taping stations, two inground plunge tubs, and various new modalities.

The Colby College Department of Athletics seeks a certified athletic trainer starting in August. As a member of the Sports Medicine team, the athletic trainer provides first aid, injury mitigation, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and referral to injured student athletes; assists in the educational experience of athletic trainer student interns, and travels with athletic teams.
