Position Summary:

This position involves coordinating multiple clinical research protocols in the UW Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine (CVM) in collaboration with research nurse coordinators. The primary duties of this job involve coordination of clinical research trial activity for participants. The types of studies include, but are not limited to, NIH or Industry sponsored clinical research involving drugs, devices, biologic agents and imaging. This position will report to the CVM Clinical Research Supervisor and work closely with principal investigators and clinic staff.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required; preferred degree in healthcare or biological sciences.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

- Candidates should have a basic understanding of clinical research principles and methodology and be able to apply that knowledge to a clinical trials environment.
- 1 year clinical research coordinator experience preferred.
- Preferred candidate will have experience working with patients in healthcare setting and have basic medical assessment skills such as obtaining vital signs.
- Previous experience in clinical research is a plus.

Prefix assignment determined by years of relevant work experience. A minimum of 7 years' experience is required for appointment at the senior level.

Additional Information:

Attention to detail, time management and excellent organization will be critical to the success of this position.

Travel to offsite locations will be required to perform study-related visits and attend research meetings. A valid driver license and personal vehicle accessibility or eligibility for fleet vehicle usage is required.

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial Caregiver Check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and then every four years.
