Job Description

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Prescott, Arizona campus is hiring a Senior Budget and Financial Analyst to support the Budget Office. Embry-Riddle's Prescott Campus is respected worldwide for cutting-edge instruction and training for tomorrow’s aviation, aerospace, security and intelligence leaders. Prescott is a mile-high city and its climate reflects seasonable weather excellent for flying. Daytime averages are 80°F in the summer and 45°F in the winter. At 5,000 ft. above sea level, it boasts a mild climate, clean air, pristine wilderness areas, and nearby national forests. The university is a small, private, residential university in the mountains of Arizona with approximately 3,500 students. Staff/faculty/student interaction is highly valued and is a central theme of our campus. It is located 100 miles north of Phoenix and 120 miles south of the Grand Canyon.

  • Responsible for preparing business cases, white papers, financial and data analyses and presentations on proposed capital purchases, construction projects, operational effectiveness and a variety of campus programs to determine project, program or operational viability. Makes recommendations and proposes work around solutions or alternatives for use by management. Prepares implements and analyzes results of specialized surveys.

  • Responsible for the development of complex data and financial models to support budgetary and financial needs such as planning, forecasting, tracking or viability assessment of campus programs and projects. Develops end user specialized model templates and training on such models for various departments and programs on campus.

  • Responsible for the development, creation and publication of specialized, ad hoc and periodic management reports and prepares periodic reviews, financial tracking and outcome reports in support of new and established programs throughout campus to assess the financial and quantitative results of such programs.

  • Develops end user specialized model templates and training on such models for various departments and programs on campus.

  • Facilitates, serves on special committees or performs as project manager on a variety of ad hoc cross department, cross campus, special project teams or committees.



Secondary Job Functions or Duties:

Support campus budget manager, other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • ​ Bachelor’s degree. Area of study: Accounting or Business.

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in financial performance analysis and accounting practices, and systems.

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

  • Ability to identify, collect, and analyze information from multiple sources.

  • Advanced ability to effectively present complex finance related information both verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.

  • In depth ability to use multiple spreadsheet and database software tools to gather information for specialized, complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.

  • Advanced interpersonal skills at all levels within the organization; advanced service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. In depth ability to use organizational skills to multi-task in a high volume environment.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, balance multiple projects in a dynamic work environment.

  • Ability to function as a member of a team and to work independently.

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.

  • Three to five years of related work experience.
