The Department of Economics and Marketing in the Romain College of Business at the University of Southern Indiana invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Economics position beginning in August 2021.

 

A Ph.D. in economics from an accredited university is required. Applicants with ABD status will be considered for the rank of Instructor until degree is completed.

 

The selected candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate economics and MBA economics courses. Current teaching needs of the department include managerial and business economics (JEL code M00), and financial economics (JEL code G00).

 

A strong candidate will have a research program underway, evidence of dedication to student success, an ability to further enhance the college’s economics curriculum, and a willingness to actively participate in service to the college, university, and community.

 

USI’s Romain College of Business is dual accredited by the AACSB for business and accounting undergraduate and graduate programs and plays an important role in the economic and social development of the region. The College currently enrolling approximately 1,200 undergraduate business majors across eight different programs and more than 1,000 MBA students across seven concentration areas.

 

The University of Southern Indiana is in Evansville, Indiana’s third-largest city with an estimated metro population of 314,000. Located on the Ohio River, it is the commercial, medical and cultural hub of southwestern Indiana and the Illinois-Indiana-Kentucky tri-state area, and is within driving distance to Louisville, Kentucky, St. Louis, Missouri, Nashville, Tennessee, and Indianapolis, Indiana. Evansville is home to numerous museums, the Mesker Park Zoo and Botanic Garden, Tropicana Evansville casino, an emerging sports tourism industry and growing arts, culture and entertainment districts. Major employers can be found in financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution and retail.
