Assistant Professor of Nursing

Wellstar School of Nursing

 

The Wellstar School of Nursing at Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for two twelve-month tenure track Assistant Professor of Nursing faculty positions, beginning July 1, 2021.

 

Qualified applicants will have clinical expertise in adult health, community health, psychiatric/mental health, parent/child or women’s health nursing and/or skills and simulation labs. These positions report to the Director of the Wellstar School of Nursing. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in undergraduate didactic and clinical courses. Other responsibilities include participation in ongoing curricular assessment, scholarly activities, and service in departmental, college, and university committees. Ideal candidates will possess: 1)an active RN license in Georgia or eligibility for a Georgia nursing license; 2) previous teaching experience; 3) evidence of a beginning program of research and scholarship/creative activities in a focused area;

4) the ability to seek and obtain external research funding; and 5) a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

 

Required Qualifications Include: a research focused doctoral degree in nursing or a related field, or the foreign equivalent. Candidates who did not complete a BSN to PhD degree, must possess a master’s degree in nursing or a related field, or the foreign equivalent. BSN to PhD graduates are not required to hold a master’s degree. Candidates must have a clinical background in adult health, community health, psychiatric/mental health, parent/child or women’s health nursing and/or skills and simulation labs.

 

Preferred Qualifications Include: prior teaching experience; evidence of scholarship and creative activities; prior success in obtaining intramural or extramural funding.
