Associate Director of Undergraduate Programs and Associate Professor or Professor of Nursing

The Wellstar School of Nursing at Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for an Associate Director of Undergraduate Programs. This is a twelve-month tenure track faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, beginning July 1, 2021.

 

The Associate Director of Undergraduate Programs reports to the Director of the Wellstar School of Nursing which offers traditional and accelerated BSN programs. Responsibilities include day- to-day management of both undergraduate programs. The Associate Director oversees accreditation processes, generates reports, maintains program compliance with the Georgia Board of Nursing and accrediting agencies, monitors academic standards and provides academic leadership and oversight for the undergraduate nursing programs. In addition to the leadership role, the Associate Director will have teaching, research, and service responsibilities. Such responsibilities include participation in ongoing curricular assessment, scholarly activities, and service in departmental, college, and university committees.

 

Ideal candidates will possess: 1) an active RN license in Georgia or eligibility for a Georgia nursing license; 2) previous teaching and administrative experience in undergraduate nursing education; 3) evidence of a program of research and a commitment to maintaining a research program; 4) the ability to seek and obtain external research funding; 5) demonstrated high-level of interpersonal skills for communication, consultation, and collaboration; 6) a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; and 7) demonstrated forward-thinking leadership and the ability to inspire and mentor faculty.

 

Required Qualifications Include: a research focused doctoral degree in nursing or a related field, or the foreign equivalent. Candidates who did not complete a BSN to PhD degree, must possess a master’s degree in nursing or a related field, or the foreign equivalent. BSN to PhD graduates are not required to hold a master’s degree. Successful candidates must qualify for the Associate Professor or Professor rank, have a minimum of 5 years of clinical practice, and 5 years of teaching in an academic setting, administrative experience, a strong record of scholarship, evidence of internal and/or external funding, and working with diverse groups.

 

Preferred Qualifications Include: prior experience with accreditation visits and reports; prior success in obtaining extramural funding.
