The University of South Carolina Aiken, a senior institution in the University of South Carolina system, seeks candidates for Instructor of English/Writing Center Director, beginning August 16, 2021.  Required: minimum earned M.A. in English/Composition & Rhetoric or related field with primary expertise, teaching experience, and scholarly record in the teaching of writing. Prior tutorial experience in a Writing Center required; managerial experience strongly preferred.  Specialization open, but experience teaching composition required and additional experience teaching writing online strongly preferred.  ESOL certification required by date of appointment.  In addition to directing the Writing Center, teaching responsibilities will include a 2-course load per semester, combining first-year Composition and upper-level Composition and Rhetoric courses. The Department of English offers the B.A. in English; the B.F.A in Writing; and minors in literature, and professional and creative writing; there are currently fourteen full-time faculty members.
