The Vice President of Business Services & Chief Financial Officer serves as the senior executive responsible for the management of all financial activities of the organization. This role is responsible for overseeing cash flow planning; preparing and reviewing budgets; creating forecasting models; and, tracking operational metrics (KPIs.) The Vice President of Business Services & Chief Financial Officer also works under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer to prepare accurate financial documents for review by the Board of Directors.
Job Duties-
Manage and prepare all monthly, quarterly and annual
financial documents including budget, projections and analysis of
actual results. Provide analysis and recommendations to the finance
committee and the full board of directors, as appropriate and under
the direction of the Chief Executive Officer.
Prepare and analyze all financial statements
including Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.
Ensure accounting procedures and practices are in
accordance to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Ensure
appropriate financial policies and procedures are available and
accessible to all employees.
Ensure all necessary schedules and reporting
requirements for audits are accurate and complete. Work directly
with the external auditor regarding audit, IRS (990) and State
filing.
Work with all departments to provide budget
management assistance. This includes leading the planning
activities with the OLC Executive Team.
Manage all cash transactions including financial
investments.
Prepare all documents required to seek loans or
other sources of funding, as appropriate.
Prepare financial and summary documents for funding
sources.
Present monthly, quarterly and annual financial
statements to executives and board of directors. This includes
providing monthly forecasting to the CEO’s Cabinet.
Inform key stakeholders of financial status and
investment plans
Establish and maintain appropriate internal control
safeguards.
Manage accounting and purchasing functions of OLC
ensuring policies and procedures are followed and updated as
needed. Evaluate all contracts and memorandums of agreement for
compliance.
Supervise finance team.
Responsible for all areas of payroll and 401k
program.
Negotiate and obtain necessary insurance policies
(general liability, directors and officers, event cancellation,
etc.) for OLC and ensure all policies are current.
Analyze product and service areas using cost
accounting methodology, review pricing and feasibility, make change
recommendations as needed.
Provide ROI analysis and make recommendations for
all new/proposed large scale initiatives.
Assistant Treasurer of the OLC Board of Directors
and Member of the Finance Committee.

Master’s degree in Accounting or MBA with a
concentration in Accounting or Finance.
7-10 years experience in accounting, preferably as a
controller or CFO
Knowledge of data analysis, risk management and
forecasting methods
Hands-on experience with accounting and financial
management software
Expertise in MS Excel
Analytical skills
Ability to explain financial terms in simple
language
Excellent time management skills
A successful track record in setting priorities;
keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which
support and enable sound decision making
Excellent communication and relationship building
skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a
variety of internal and external stakeholders
A multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats in
a fast-paced environment

Prior experience in a non-profit or higher
education
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation
Experience with grant financial management
- Familiarity or experience with the goals and mission of the Online Learning Consortium
