Position Summary:

The Department of Operations and Information Management (OIM) in the Wisconsin School of Business, invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in the information systems area, to start fall 2020. The OIM department offers a PhD program, daytime MBA specializations, an undergraduate major in Information Systems, an undergraduate major in Operations and Technology Management, as well as supporting graduate and undergraduate programs in supply chain management. We have a presence in the new MS in Business Analytics, as well as the Evening and Executive MBA programs. The department is closely connected to the Erdman Center for Operations and Technology Management and the Grainger Center for Supply Chain Management, both of which are founded on the principles of cross-functional perspectives and industry engagement.

Principal Duties:

-Create and maintain a strong program of research
-Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in the Wisconsin School of Business
-Provide classroom and individual instruction for undergraduate and graduate degree-seeking students
-Contribute to the intellectual and academic life of the department. University and community service will be expected as appropriate.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Ph.D. in Information Systems or related field required by start date.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Candidates with a PhD or those anticipating a PhD degree by the time of hire will have research under way that is likely to result in one or more publications in top tier journals, and will have presentation skills that suggest future excellence in teaching. Seasoned applicants will have demonstrated high quality research with publications in top tier journals, and will have demonstrated evidence of excellence in teaching.
