The School of Information Studies is seeking a part-time instructor to teach Functional Process Automation, Fall 2021

The course will train students to plan, design, prototype, test, deploy, monitor, document, scale, and manage applications using robotic automation ( RPA ) software tools within an ethical framework of automation and future of work. Course learning objectives include:
• Plan, design, prototype, test, deploy, document, monitor, scale, and manage integrated end-to-end applications using functional robotic process automation ( RPA ) software tools.
• Demonstrate grasp of complex interactions between automation strategy and digital transformation strategy in the modern enterprise
• Identify and prioritize areas for applying automation capabilities
• Design enterprise-wide automation governance framework
• Develop and deliver effective professional communications for diverse target audiences
• Articulate ethical implications of automation from viewpoint of fairness, accountability, transparency, and social responsibility


Candidates should have a minimum of two years of teaching experience at the college or university level. Candidates should have a master’s degree in a relevant field such as management of information systems, data science, information science, or computer science.

Job Specific Qualifications Responsibilities

• Collaborate with professor of record, who is responsible for creating the course syllabus and course content, as well as providing an overview of their overall vision for the course.
• Attend onboarding and training with the iSchool’s Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning ( FCTL )
• Making semester-by-semester updates to due dates
• Maintain office hours and open communication with students.
• Maintain the course in the Blackboard Learning Management system
• Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner; provide feedback when appropriate.
• Prepare for weekly in-person or virtual sessions with students
