The Department of Biology and Chemistry at Baker University invites application for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position starting August 10, 2021. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching in the Human Anatomy and Physiology series in the biology department, as well as courses relevant to their expertise in the Applied Health Sciences Department. Teaching non-majors in the general education program is also expected. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to mentor undergraduate research projects in their area of expertise, participate in academic advising of students, serve the University through committee work, and demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development and teaching excellent. Qualifications: PhD in Anatomy, Kinesiology, or closely related field is preferred. The successful candidate must have demonstrated an interest in and an aptitude for teaching undergraduates.

Baker University began its liberal arts tradition in 1858 as the first university in Kansas. The campus is located 45 minutes west of Kansas City and 15 minutes south of Lawrence, Kansas. The Biology laboratories are located in a recently renovated science building, and we are fortunate to be able to provide funding for student research projects. Baker University’s exercise science program is accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation for the Exercise Sciences (COAES).
